The Story of Shytowngirl Vintage
Lisa Galvan, owner of Shytowngirl Vintage LLC, is a long time dealer of vintage and designer clothing, accessories and home decor. She has over 40 years of resale and appraisal experience. Based in Chicago, IL, Lisa's love for vintage started at a young age. At the early age of 8, Lisa and her mother started frequenting garage and estate sales weekly searching for vintage treasures. The pair would share a curated selection of their finds with others through selling at local vintage markets around Chicago.
Meanwhile, Lisa's grandmother owned and operated Marion Lee Fashions, a women's clothing boutique and gift shop, on the Northwest side of Chicago for many years. Growing up, Lisa would often help her grandmother in her store and found her love for vintage fashion through working there.
In the 1990s, Lisa started selling her finds to a wider audience on eBay. Since starting, she has sold thousands of items to people around the world. In 2011, Lisa opened her first booth at Lincoln Antique Mall located on the Northwest side of Chicago. Lisa still sells at Lincoln Antique Mall to this day. She is booth #55, located in the center of the mall near the checkout counter. The mall is located at 3115 W. Irving Park Rd. in Chicago. If you are in the Chicagoland area, stop on by!
Aside from her mall space, Lisa loves to pop up at various vintage markets across the Chicagoland area. Shytowngirl Vintage has popped up at numerous local markets over the years. Lisa is a full season vendor at Randolph Street Market in Chicago's West Loop and was a full season vendor at Vintage Garage Chicago and the Chicago Vintage Clothing and Jewelry Show up until their closings. She is also a frequent vendor at Chicago Vintage Festival, Illinois Vintage Fest, and Lake Forest Antiques and Treasures Market. Most recently she has popped up with a select group of vintage vendors at Vintage On The Avenue, hosted by the Shops at North Bridge on Chicago's Magnificent Mile. Lisa loves meeting fellow vintage enthusiasts in person and seeing the delight on her customer's faces when they find something they love.
Lisa's family is active in the operations of Shytowngirl Vintage both behind the scenes and in person at pop up markets. Lisa's daughter, Kimberly, has become her assistant through the years, helping source, price and sell items both online and in person for the business. She also operates the Shytowngirl Vintage social media pages and this website.
